Description
Origin
Gum Arabic comes from the wild growing acacia trees in the central African “rubber belt”.
These extands from Senegal to Ethiopia south of the sahara. Sudan, Chad and Nigeria are main supplier countries.
Usage
Confectionary
Gum Arabic is texturizer, barrier and film- forming in confectionary. It is used as coating agends and brightener for chewing gum and dragee goods.
DELICATESSEN
For milk-products, sauces or desserts it is used as an emulsifier, suspending agent and stabilizer.
COSMETICS
Here it is used as an emulisifier, stabilizer, thikener and also as texturizer for creams, lotions, masks and decorative cosmetics.
TECHNICAL APPLICATION
In technology it is used as emulsifier, suspending agent and stabilizer for inks, collours and as encapsulation agent for colour pigments. It is also used as adhesiv(ly) for pyrotechnics and cigarette paper.
DRINKS AND FLAVORS
In Smoothies, soft drinks and coctails you will find it as emulsifier, suspending agent and stabilizer.
It is an excipient and an encapsulation agent for spray-dryed flavors.
OENOLOGY AND BEER PRODUCTS
Gum arabic is clarifier and stabilizer for wine. Also in beer mixtures it is used as stabilizer and emulsifier.
PHARMA
In the Pharmaceutical industry it is used as film-forming, coating agent and binder for tablets, dragees, pastilles and capsules. Gum arabic is also stabilizer for medical suspendions and emusiones.
